Wood energy seminars
Wood energy is gaining popularity for industrial and commercial heat requirements as businesses look for alternatives to traditional fossil fuels - either based on price or environmental benefits, such as improved air quality. Technology advances mean that wood can provide large amounts of heat very efficiently and with little operator input.
This seminar provides an overview of the technical considerations for using wood energy for industrial and commercial heat.
Who should attend
- Consulting and process engineers
- Facilities managers who operate heat plants
Content
This practical seminar has four parts, and wherever possible will include case studies:
- Introduction to wood energy internationally and in New Zealand
- Understanding wood fired boiler technology
- Examples and discussion of the range of wood fired boiler technology and examples of how these are matched to available fuels, sites and user requirements - Determining the feasibility of the project
- Issues to consider when evaluating wood energy including technical, fuel supply and site considerations - Wood energy supply
- What resource is there and where is it?
- Setting up a supply chain to get wood residues to heat users, with examples of supply chains in operation
